Vitinha makes surprise Wolves transfer admission after £34m PSG move

Latest Wolves news from BirminghamLive includes comments made by Vitinha on his loan spell at Molineux

Former Wolves loanee Vitinha, pictured in action for FC Porto, has completed a transfer to PSG

Big money Paris Saint-Germain signing Vitinha insists he 'wouldn't change anything' about his time at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Portuguese midfielder spent 12 months on loan at Wolves in the 2020/21 season, but he barely played under Nuno Espirito Santo. Vitinha made just five starts in the Premier League, with his highlight in a Wolves shirt being a spectacular winner in the FA Cup victory over Chorley.

Wolves declined the option to sign Vitinha permanently for €20million and he returned to parent club Porto last summer. The 22-year-old helped Porto win the Primeira Liga title and was recently named the league's young player of the year.

PSG have forked out €40m (£34m) to sign Vitinha from Porto. The former Wolves loanee will be lining up alongside Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar next season after joining the French champions.

And Vitinha insists his PSG move wouldn't have been possible without the learning curve he experienced at Molineux. In an interview with French outlet RMC, Vitinha said: “You can say that, because I didn’t leave my mark. I didn’t play much with Wolves. So we can say that. But I think it was very good. It brought me things I probably wouldn’t have had if I hadn’t gone.

“I grew a lot, including off the pitch, on the things I had to learn, on what it’s like to be in a club, outside of your country, outside your comfort zone. If I could go back, I wouldn’t change anything. Because that’s what made me come here, and have a much bigger background.”
