The former Barça coach spoke at a golf event in Catalonia on Friday

In his appearance at the Barcelona Golf Club in Sant Esteve Sesrovires ahead of the second edition of the 'Koeman Cup', a charity event whose main objective is to raise funds for the Cruyff Foundation, Ronald Koeman spoke about his good relationship with Josep Maria Bartomeu, the president who allowed him to coach Barça and who, according to his point of view, did a good job in front of the Blaugrana.

“I have always gotten along very well with Bartomeu," he said. "For me, he was a very good president for this club. Sure, he's done his things, but he won his titles. I don't know exactly what has happened in recent years, it's an economic issue. With him, Barça was at their best level."

Koeman did not want to enter into controversy and was also very respectful towards current president Joan Laporta: "I want the best for Barça and, therefore, I want the best for him."

The Dutch coach also analysed the current situation at Barça. He positioned himself in favor of the continuity of his compatriots Frenkie de Jong and Memphis Depay, approved the arrival of Robert Lewandowski and explained that Barça "always has to try to have the best" and this goes through "signing the best and not selling them.”
