Brandon Williams breaks silence on reason for missing Manchester United pre-season tour
Williams is one of eight players that have missed out on Man United's tour
Brandon Williams has broken his silence on the reason why he is missing Manchester United's pre-season tour. The United squad boarded a plane to Thailand on Friday ahead of their first pre-season tour game against Liverpool on Tuesday.
Eight players have not travelled with the United squad for their tour. Most notably among the eight is Cristiano Ronaldo who has been given additional time off to deal with a 'family issue'. MEN Sport understands that Williams missed out due to a 'small issue'.
It is thought that the defender, who spent last season on loan at Norwich City, could be sold this summer. However, Williams took to Instagram to send a defiant message about what he referred to as his 'injury'.

"My injury, I told myself to deal with it and bounce back stronger," Williams declared. "My goal is to play in-front of the best fans in the world."
The United squad arrived in Bangkok overnight to a warm welcome from hundreds of fans who were at the airport to greet them. They play Liverpool on Tuesday before travelling on to Australia for three more matches against Melbourne Victory, Crystal Palace and Aston Villa.
