Giovanni van Bronckhorst provides injury update on Rangers stars John Souttar and Ryan Jack

GIO VAN BRONCKHORST has revealed Ryan Jack and John Souttar will return to full training this week.

The Gers boss said: “John had to have some buttons pulled out of his ankle. It’s nothing serious.

“Ryan had an injury with his calf. He trained already this week.

“We are managing his load but he will be training with the squad.”

Gers, who hope to confirm the signing of winger Rabbi Matondo on Monday, were trailing the Black Cats when the lights went out in Portugal.

It meant a reworking of the training schedule ahead of the team's flight back to Glasgow.

Van Bronckhorst added: “The first week in pre-season is always difficult.

“We started with a lot of youngsters, now we are gradually getting new players in and all the internationals are back.

“The first week you don’t have the full picture, but in the next week to ten days we will have everyone fit and fresh.”

Meanwhile, former Rangers loanee Aaron Ramsey has made a shock return to Juventus.

With his time in Turin thought to be certain to be coming to a close, Ramsey surprised fans by turning up and participating in some pre-season fitness tests with the Serie A giants.

However, he also fell victim to a brutal prank whereby he signed his own 'contract termination'.

The Wales star only has a year left on his current deal but fans of the Old Lady are keen for him to get going sooner.

As players were meeting fans outside the stadium, they signed autographs and took pictures with supporters and it was there that Ramsey signed something he did not expect.

Video footage showing a piece of paper that reads 'rescissione contrattuale,' which when directly translated, means 'contract termination.'

A cruel fan got him to sign it and the brutal prank was uploaded to Twitter.

Speaking last summer as his Juventus career was already heading south, Ramsey admitted that his situation at Juventus was 'difficult'.

The Welshman has so far made 70 appearances for Juve, scoring six goals.

He said: “The way things have gone is not helping me personally.

“I know what I can do and with the right management I can stay fit for a long period of time and play a lot of games. I still feel good given the opportunity and managed correctly."
