Antonio Colak lowdown from ex-Malmo boss Jon Dahl Tomasson as he tells Rangers fans what to expect from striker

BLACKBURN ROVERS boss Jon Dahl Tomasson extended his recent unbeaten run in Glasgow by coming from behind to earn a 2-2 draw with Celtic at Parkhead.
Last year he brought his Malmo side to Ibrox and dumped Rangers out of the Champions League with a 2-1 win and he’s tipped Antonio Colak – who scored both goals for the Swedes that night – to be a star in the Premiership this season.
The 28-year-old Croatia striker was signed from Greek outfit PAOK ten days ago and Tomasson has no doubts that he’ll succeed in Scotland.
“He’s an excellent player and he made it tough for Rangers last season by scoring those two goals at Ibrox,” said the Dane.
“Colak is a great person and excellent for the dressing room as well, always giving maximum effort.
“I think he will score goals for Rangers. He is a great team player and I like team players. He has a great attitude but it all depends on the manager.

“I know Giovanni van Bronckhorst very well [they were team-mates at Feyenoord] and he’s clever enough to make the right choices.”
Tomasson went on to guide Malmo into the Champions League group stages last season and he was impressed enough by Celtic yesterday to believe they can give a good account of themselves there.
“When you look at our budget, we did the impossible at Malmo when we qualified for the group phase last year,” he claimed.
“We had to get through four rounds against opponents who had been champions of their own country and we were unseeded in the third and fourth rounds.

“Playing in the Champions League itself is a great experience for the players, the club and the country because of the level of your opponents – that’s why it’s the best competition in the world.
“I think Celtic are a well-coached side with a lot of quality players but, at the end of the day, they will need to show that once the games start.”
Meanwhile, Rangers beat Blackpool 2-1 in their latest pre-season friendly.
Goals from Borna Barisic and Charlie McCann were enough as Gers looked comfortable throughout but fans were left worried by Calvin Bassey's omission from the squad amid reports of a move to Ajax or Brighton.
