Predicted Rangers starting XI against Tottenham as Rabbi Matondo ready for full Ibrox impact

Gers face off with the Premier League big-hitters in one final glamour friendly before the real stuff kicks off next week.

Recognition is welcomed in all walks of life but the praise being dished out to Rangers appears richly deserved.

David Moyes saluted the Europa League finalists for being too sharp for his West Ham side on Wednesday as he watched his Hammers being floored in a 3-1 defeat . And then Antonio Conte extolled the virtues of both the current Ibrox squad and the supporters who have made Tottenham 's sell-out visit to Govan a game to savour.

But Rangers aren't sitting still and soaking up the platitudes from a pair of revered managers. Gio van Bronckhorst has the here and now to concern himself with and a looming Champions League qualifier against Union Saint Gilloise to navigate. And all of the Ibrox side's pre-season prep is going into that encounter and their Premiership opener against Livingston.

But how will Rangers line up against a Tottenham side boasting superstars such as Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son? Record Sport runs the rule over how Van Bronckhorst could line up.

Allan McGregor and Jon McLaughlin can both make compelling cases to be No.1 but we'll plump with the club icon starting ahead of McLaughlin after he had a watching brief against West Ham. John Souttar is building up his fitness and looked sharp against Moyes' boys midweek.

The solid midfield three of Ryan Jack, Glen Kamara and John Lundstram appears perfect to take on Conte's 3-5-2 but a compelling case to start Tom Lawrence in behind Antonio Colak can surely be made after his goal and double assist to sink the Hammers.

But this appears the perfect game to start Rabbi Matondo - the Wales international brought an electricity, as well as his first goal on Wednesday. He appears and obvious candidate to start in a front three which could also contain Antonio Colak and Ryan Kent.
