Fulham seek out alternatives for Neto should his signing fail
Napoli's offer for Barça's Brazilian goalkeeper is still pending, and his future is undecided, so Fulham are keeping their alternatives open
Fulham, recently promoted to the Premier League, are now debating between Bernd Leno from Arsenal and Barça's Neto Murara, to reinforce their goalkeeping position. Neto is one of the five players Xavi Hernández left out of the squad in FC Barcelona's tour of the United States.
Barça are still awaiting the five players to sort out their futures. The coach's wish is for all of them have found a club before the squad is back in Spain and starts the preseason at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper, but the sailing has not been smooth.
In Neto's case, the Brazilian goalkeeper has resisted leaving Barça yet, although he came close to moving to Celta. Brazilian club Sao Paulo have also shown interest, and Serie A's Napoli are keeping him on their agenda. That is why Neto is delaying his final decision as much as possible.
For their part, Fulham are working on alternatives in case they are unable to sign Neto. They have approached Arsenal for the possible signing of Bernd Leno, Fabrizo Romano reports, as the German goalkeeper is open for transfer and is not a part of Mikel Arteta's plans.
