Rangers star Connor Goldson left livid at John Souttar stick as he calls out critics for knee-jerk reaction

RANGERS star Connor Goldson has hit out at criticism aimed at new centre back partner John Souttar.
The Scotland international made his competitive Light Blues debut at the back alongside Goldson in Saturday's 2-1 win at Livingston, but it proved a difficult afternoon for him.
Souttar allowed Livi front man Joel Nouble to breeze past him to lob the Lions into an early lead.
Nouble gave the 25-year old an absolutely torrid time throughout, and Giovanni van Bronckhorst eventually made the decision to hook Souttar on 67 minutes.
The Gers turned things around thanks to quickfire goals from Scott Arfield and James Tavernier.
Souttar's performance copped plenty of flak online for his performance after his out of sorts showing at the Tony Macaroni Arena.
Goldson has now leapt to the defence of his fellow centre half, branding the criticism 'disappointing.'
The Gers vice captain reckons it's far too early to judge Souttar after just one game and is totally convinced he'll come good in a big way.
Goldson said: "I’ve been really impressed with Souttar. You see his quality every day in training.
"I was really disappointed on Saturday seeing a lot of criticism after one game, I’ve been there myself I have no doubts at all he will be an unbelievable signing for this football club.

"We know the pressure that comes at Rangers but people can’t judge a player after one game at Livingston which is not the easiest place to go. I look forward to playing with him more."

Goldson and co travel to Belgium for the first leg of their third round clash.
