West Ham's potential opponents in Europe are from the country which Richard Keys once told to "f*** off".

The draw for the Europa Conference League play-off round was made on Tuesday (August 2), with David Moyes' side learning they will face either Denmark's Viborg FF or B36 Torshavn of the Faroe Islands, who were on the receiving end of an uncalled for outburst in 2007.

Former Sky Sports presenter Keys had just introduced a video package of their Euro 2008 qualifier against Scotland when he thought he was off air. He then said: "No promos, that's it, can't be a****, see ya. Come on."

‌

That was followed by: "Daft little ground, silly game, f*** off." The foul-mouthed blooper was of course many Keys made before he resigned from Sky in 2011 amid the sexism scandal involving official Sian Massey.

West Ham may have to visit a "daft little ground" themselves if Torshavn beat Viborg, with the first leg played on Wednesday (August 3) and the reverse leg following next Tuesday (August 9).

The Hammers will play the winner at the London Stadium on August 18 before travelling to either Denmark or the Faroe Islands on August 25. Whatever the destination, they'll have to make do without captain Declan Rice for both games.

He was handed a two-match ban for comments made towards the referee during the Europa League semi-final second leg against Eintracht Frankfurt in May. Rice was heard saying: “How can you be that bad, honestly? You’ve probably been f****** paid. F****** corruption."

Moyes will also be absent for the first leg. He was given a one-match ban after booting a ball at a ball boy in the closing stages of the 1-0 defeat to Frankfurt.
