- Maxwel Cornet was Burnley's top scorer in the Premier League last season
- The 25-year-old is capable of playing both on the wing and as a fullback

Maxwel Cornet is set to have a medical at West Ham after meeting the Burnley left-back's £17.5million release clause, with boss David Moyes keen to bolster his defence after moving on from Eintracht Frankfurt's Filip Kostic.
Ivory Coast international Cornet was relegated with the Clarets last year but was still their top scorer with nine goals.
He had already carved a reputation as a reliable and versatile player with Lille, where he played over 250 games before joining Burnley in 2021.

David Moyes led his West Ham side to a Europa League semi-final last season
Cornet was a target for Moyes at the start of the transfer window before his pursuit of Kostic. The Frankfurt man has now been deemed too expensive, though, allowing a deal for Cornet to come through.
He had previously attracted offers from Nottingham Forest, Everton, Fulham and Newcastle United.
The 25-year-old could be a key addition for a relatively small Hammers squad, especially after left-back Arthur Masuaku joined Besiktas on loan.
West Ham enjoyed an excellent season in 2021/22 as they finished seventh in the league and reached a Europa League semi final.

West Ham are exploring other options after failing to come to an agreement for Filip Kostic
They did suffer from a lack of depth at times, as nine players made over 40 appearances.
Proven Premier League players like Cornet could be key to helping Moyes' side build on last year's success in the coming season.
Meanwhile, Burnley are looking to replace Cornet with Manuel Benson from FC Antwerp. The 25-year-old is due for a medical ahead of agreeing a four year deal.
