Celtic No2 John Kennedy to FC Midtjylland latest as Danish chiefs confirm foreign boss interest

FC MIDTJYLLAND have confirmed they are set to go foreign for a new boss — as they eye up Celtic No 2 John Kennedy.
SunSport revealed the long-serving Hoops coach is a strong contender for the top Danish post.
Midtjylland’s sporting director Svend Graversen confirmed foreign bosses feature prominently on a shortlist.
The Danes dropped into the Europa League after a Champions League KO by Benfica.
Midtjylland have appointed a specialist company, OneNexus, to oversee the recruitment of a new head coach.
Graversen told a Danish TV station there are “more foreign” than homegrown candidates for the position.

But he vowed they won’t be rushed into making a decision, with Henrik Jenson in temporary charge of the side.
Graversen said: “We are not going to rush. It takes the time it takes.
“You don’t just have one standing ready, and then you press the button and take him in.
“We have put it into process and we are working with a company that will help us find the right one.

“We are 100 per cent satisfied with the set-up we have. We’ve given ourselves time and peace to find the right process, and that’s what it’s about.
“We have to find the person who can step in and take over the team, and we must not be limited by time.”
Former Celtic defender Kennedy has filled a variety of backroom roles since retiring as a player.
He joined the first-team coaching set-up under Ronny Deila and has also worked under Brendan Rodgers, Neil Lennon and Ange Postecoglou.
Kennedy previously rejected the Hibs job, but Midtjylland would be an attractive option.
Meanwhile, Elche are hopeful of winning the race to sign Alex Collado on loan.
Celtic were weighing up a move for the Barcelona attacker, but he’s now likely to stay in Spain.
