Christopher Jullien to Montpellier confirmed as French defender leaves Celtic in permanent transfer

CHRISTOPHER JULLIEN'S Celtic exit has been confirmed as he joins Montpellier on a permanent deal.
The 29-year-old has failed to feature for Celtic this season and has only made one appearance for the club under Ange Postecoglou.
The forgotten centre-back managed only 16 minutes of football under Postecoglou as he came on against Raith Rovers in the Scottish Cup.
The Frenchman spent the majority of the last 18 months out with injury after he collided with the post in a league match against Dundee United back in January 2021.
Since his return from injury the defender struggled to break back into the starting line up as Cameron Carter-Vickers and Carl Starfelt formed an impressive title-winning partnership.
Jullien was set to leave Celtic earlier in the summer after he passed a medical at Schalke but the move fell through as he couldn't agree personal terms with the German club.

The former Toulouse man will draw a line under his Parkhead career though after officially confirming his switch back to Ligue 1.
Speaking about his move, Jullien told the club's website: "I am very happy to join the MHSC.
"I immiediately felt a warm spirit, everyone welcomed me. Now I can't wait to get started.
"I left Ligue 1 quite a while ago and I'm happy to be back in this Championship.
