Evander to Rangers transfer path cleared but Midtjylland chief offers 'honest' caveat as Galatasaray move falls apart
A move to Turkey looks to be off the table from the versatile Brazilian amid links with Ibrox.
FC Midtjylland director of sport Svend Graversen admits the door remains open for Evander to leave the Danish club following reported interest from Rangers.
Gio van Bronckhorst is weighing up his options as we approach the end of the window with the versatile Brazilian reportedly on the Ibrox radar. The midfielder is keen to find a new club before the deadline after negotiating an exit agreement with the Danes, and Turkish giants Galatasaray appeared to have sealed a move for the 24-year-old before the window slams shut.
However, Graversen has stated that the deal has collapsed and admits a move away from Midtjylland is becoming increasingly unlikely with less than 48 hours to do a deal. However, he admitted the club were open to cashing in on the player if the right deal comes in, with the Scottish Premiership side touted by Turkish media as Evander's preferred destination this summer after knocking back a move to Istanbul.
But Graversen admitted time is rapidly running out to seal a move. He told Bold : "We are two days from the closing of the transfer window. It is not likely that anything will happen.
"But it is clear that things went quickly with Raphael Onyedika (who joined Club Brugge), so of course it can also go quickly with Evander if the right price comes. But it hasn't arrived, so it's starting to seem more and more unlikely.
"We have told Evander that if we find the right club that is ready to give the right price, then it can be done. Both we and Evander have been honest with each other about this."
