Ex-Celtic star Christopher Jullien already facing ANOTHER injury sweat after just one game for new club Montpellier

FORMER Celtic defender Christopher Jullien is facing a new injury sweat just days after joining Montpellier having previously been out for almost 18 months with a cruciate knee injury.

Jullien returned home to France last week and admitted he was 'not satisfied' at the way his Celtic career came to an end having played just one game since December 2020.

He cost the Hoops £7 million the previous year, but was never part of manager Ange Postecoglou's plans.

The 29-year-old made his debut for Montpellier in their 7-0 away win at Brest at the weekend, but wasn't in the squad for their midweek match against Ajaccio.

And Montpellier manager Olivier Dall'Oglio has revealed Jullien will get a scan to check on a thigh injury.

He said: "Christopher Jullien is being assessed at the moment.

But his only appearance under Postecoglou was as a late substitute in a Scottish Cup win over Raith Rovers in February.

And he fell out of the picture further following the arrival of Moritz Jenz from Lorient and the permanent signing of Cameron Carter-Vickers.

Meanwhile, the Hoops will be back ina ction tonight.

They enter the Premier Sports Cup fray with a second round clash away in Dingwall against Ross County.

Ange Postecoglou and his squad will be looking to retain the trophy they won by beating Hibs 2-1 at Hampden in the final last December.

The draw for the quarter finals will take place immediately after the game at the Global Energy Stadium.
