Arsenal news: Gunners work on £20m Danilo deal as Ainsley Maitland-Niles nears rival loan exit
The latest Arsenal news from football.london on Thursday morning including updates on Youri Tielemans, Mykhaylo Mudryk and Danilo
Here is your Arsenal deadline day morning digest for Thursday, September 1.
Danilo £20m bid 'rejected'
Arsenal have submitted a proposal of £20million to Palmeiras for the purchase of Danilo, according to GOAL Brasil.
The offer was sent to the Brazilian outfit earlier this week as the Gunners search for midfield reinforcements with just one day left in the summer transfer window.
Reports suggest a deal is thought to be more achievable for Arsenal in the January transfer window, with Danilo playing a key role in Palmeiras' pursuit of a league title and third consecutive Copa Libertadores, but with the 2022 World Cup on the horizon, the youngster may feel he has more of a chance of being included in Brazil's squad by moving to the Emirates Stadium.
Should Danilo join the club, he would become Arsenal's sixth signing and third Brazilian to join the club this summer along with Marquinhos and Gabriel Jesus, joining Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Magalhaes at the club.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles loan exit
Southampton are closing in on a loan deal to sign Ainsley Maitland-Niles from Arsenal, according to The Athletic and transfer insider Fabrizio Romano.
Reports suggest that Southampton will also have the option to buy Maitland-Niles at the end of the 2022-23 season as Saints manager Ralph Hasenhuttl looks to strengthen his squad before Thursday’s transfer window deadline.
Maitland-Niles has fallen out of favour at the Emirates Stadium and enters the final year of his contract with the Gunners next summer.
Youri Tielemans 'mystery club' £19m bid
Leicester have received a £19million offer for Youri Tielemans from a 'mystery club' with just one day left to go in the transfer window, according to Football Insider.
football.london understands Arsenal are willing to wait until next summer to sign the 25-year-old on a free transfer when his contract expires at the King Power Stadium. The Gunners may be forced to accelerate plans to sign Tielemans should a rival club make a move to secure his signing.
Reports suggest that Arsenal are searching for a central midfield addition to bring in following injuries to Thomas Partey and Mohamed Elneny, leaving Mikel Arteta's options a little light in that area of the pitch.
