Glen Kamara transfer riddle as Nice create player profile for Rangers midfielder then delete it from website

GLEN KAMARA's Deadline Day transfer saga has taken an odd twist after Nice created a player profile for him on their website - before swiftly deleting it.

SunSport told you last night how the French club were preparing a late raid on Ibrox for the midfielder, backed by a £10million bid.

The Finland international, 26, joined Rangers from Dundee in what has proved to be a bargain buy of just £50,000.

He's been linked with moves away before and the Ligue 1 big-spenders are the latest club to show an interest in the former Arsenal trainee.

It could see him reunited with ex-teammate Aaron Ramsey, whom Nice signed earlier in the window.

It's understood Kamara's representatives have been locked in discussions with Nice over a potential deal.

And a further clue to the deal's progress appeared on Nice's website earlier today, with a creation date of September 1.

However it didn't last long and at the time of writing Kamara's name and likeness are nowhere to be seen on the team site.

Even though Kamara has not been a week-in, week-out starter for Rangers under Giovanni van Bronckhorst, they don't want to lose him.

He has three years remaining on his contract but with no move seemingly in the offing for Alfredo Morelos - and Van Bronckhorst going to the trouble of insisting the door is still open for the Colombian at Gers despite the latest controversy - the £10million is just too good to turn down.

Kamara signed an extension last summer after helping Rangers to the league title and was a key contributor in the Light Blues' run to the Europa League final last season, scoring in the home tie against RB Leipzig.

Rangers offloaded Nikola Katic yesterday while today could see youngster Stephen Kelly leave the club, with Livingston interested in the midfielder.

So far in the window Rangers have signed Rabbi Matondo, Tom Lawrence, Antonio Colak, Ben Davies, Ridvan Yilmaz and Malik Tillman.

John Souttar has arrived too but he had already signed a pre-contract deal in January.

Zak Lovelace also joined the club after protracted negotiations and plenty of hype but he has primarily featured for the B team so far.
