The 26-year old has endured a tough time of it since joining Celtic in January with just six appearances under his belt.

He's started just once in the Scottish Cup against Alloa, a game that saw the Japan international forced off injured and ruled out for a few weeks.

After getting back to fitness, Ideguchi suffered another injury setback on the eve of the new season after picking up a knock in training.

He's yet to feature at all competitively this season and won't be playing in the Champions League group stage.

There is, however, a place in the squad for fellow midfield fringe man James McCarthy.

The 31-year old was widely expected to leave Parkhead during the transfer window, but he remains a Celtic player.

The Republic of Ireland man has made just one appearance himself this season, coming on as a late substitute in the 4-1 League Cup win at Ross County last Wednesday.

Deadline day recruit Oliver Abildgaard and fellow recent arrival Sead Haksabanovic both make the cut in Ange Postecoglou's squad.

The list, which had to be submitted before Saturday's Old Firm win over Rangers, also includes Kyogo Furuhashi.

The Hoops talisman went off injured during the early stages of the 4-0 triumph over the Light Blues with a shoulder injury, and was also spotted falling over as he celebrated the victory post-match.

Hoops fans will be eagerly awaiting an update on Kyogo, as well as Carl Starfelt who also went off injured during the Old Firm clash.

After the match, Celts boss Postecoglou described the Kyogo injury as a 'blow' and said they'd assess the injury afterwards.

Celtic get their Champions League group stage campaign underway at Parkhead this Tuesday.

They welcome the defending European champions Real Madrid to Glasgow on what is sure to be a memorable night.
