West Bromwich Albion are planning to enter the free agent market after their failure to land loan pair Josh Onomah and Steven Alzate on transfer deadline day.
Albion's squad is lacking depth across the pitch and their attempts to add extensively to their side on the final day of the transfer window proved fruitless - though much of that was their own doing.
They did add Martin Kelly on a free, but having missed out on their prioritised loan targets, the free agent market is the only viable option now available to Steve Bruce and the club until the window reopens in January.
Albion, of course, can't wait that long; their squad being so thin, and already hampered by injury, they need extra cover in two or three positions. Erik Pieters, the former Stoke City and Burnley left-back, is training with the club currently but the midfield and forward areas also need assessing.
Here is a comprehensive list of the viable free agents currently available and waiting for their next career challenge.
