Sanson 'attracted' by Galatasaray after ‘deal’ collapses
Aston Villa midfielder Morgan Sanson could still reportedly be on the move despite the transfer market closing for English clubs last week.
Sanson has struggled to establish himself in the Villa side since his move from Marseille in January 2021. A mix of injury troubles and competition for places has limited the French midfielder to just 20 appearances in a Villa shirt, with seven of those being starts.
The 28-year-old declared himself fit on social media ahead of the opening game against Bournemouth this season but is yet to be named in a matchday squad by Steven Gerrard in the new campaign. The deadline passed for Villa to sign players last week, but the transfer window remains open in Turkey and Sanson has been touted with a move to Galatasaray.

Arsenal set to 'abandon' Villa transfer
Arsenal are reportedly set to “abandon” their pursuit of Douglas Luiz in January, with claims that the Gunners have already identified a new top target.
The Aston Villa midfielder was the subject of a late surge of interest from Mikel Arteta’s side on deadline day. Villa turned down three bids from Arsenal last week, who sought to find a last-minute replacement for Mohamed Elneny after the Egyptian international suffered a long-term hamstring injury.
Luiz has entered the final year of his Villa contract and could be set to leave B6 as a free agent next summer. However, it has been reported that the Gunners are already set to target a different midfielder when the transfer market reopens, after being thwarted by Villa.
Douglas Luiz 'destiny' claim made
Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz has made up his mind over his future at Villa Park, according to reports in Brazil.
Luiz was at the centre of a transfer saga on deadline day as Arsenal looked to complete a move for the 24-year-old. The Gunners saw three bids rejected as Villa were determined to hold on to Luiz, with the offers eventually reaching a reported £25million.
The Brazil international had been in talks over extending his contract with Villa after joining from Manchester City in 2019. However, after entering the final 12 months of his deal, the club risk losing Luiz on a free transfer and reports in Brazil have claimed the midfielder already knows what he plans to do next summer.
Villa striker told he's 'got it all' after Grealish praise
Kortney Hause has revealed the most challenging striker he has ever faced in training against and his answer may surprise a few Aston Villa fans.
Hause joined Watford on loan this summer in search of regular game time after missing several months of last season through injury. The 27-year-old made his first start for the Hornets at the weekend and has been joined by a familiar face at Vicarage in the form of Villa striker Keinan Davis.
The 24-year-old forward helped catapult Nottingham Forest to promotion last season, with five goals and two assists across 18 league games. Davis will be hoping to replicate that achievement with Watford and Hause shared just how difficult it is to line up against the Villa man as a centre-back.
