On astro turf pitches

There's a lot of different ways to look at it. As a player, I played on a plastic pitch for three years. In modern football, I don't see the top level players really wanting to play on astro turf pitches and I completely respect it. I'm from Scotland and I know how important astro turf pitches are.

On the competition

If you look through all of the results last week, we were one of the only teams that won 3-1, it was incredibly tight. All the games for us last season had real level of diffiiculty.

On squad rotation

Sometimes, you can do that and get it wrong, we needed to up the ante and go again. We are going to do it a lot more now, the chance to play five subs, 12 on the bench, certainly these games we'd like to give players opportunity to play.

On players getting settled

They have families to see or meet. It can take you a bit of time to get your bills paid, rent or whatever it is. Fortunately, we've got a really good player care team here.

On Cornet

He was fine, he felt it more in his neck. Maxi has been fine he's been training.

On Kehrer

He's adapted quickly but I think he's got so much more to do and so much more room to grow. Angelo is doing really well.

On the pitch

It's given me some thoughts. We respect that it's an artificial pitch, we have some decisions to make.

Team news

Craig Dawson and Aaron Cresswell have travelled, Ben Johnson hasn't. We've bought them with us, we will decide with the surface.

On Denmark return

Ten years ago, time has passed fast. I've done quite a journey, being 25 now we still have a good few years to go.

On Silkeborg

We expect a team like Viborg, being brave, taking risks, to try to do that. I think that the biggest difference is the speed of the ball or the ball movement is a little bit different to normal grass. We are trying to prepare the best possible way.

On competition for places

I enjoy it. I've never known anything different. For me, it is something that is very positive.

On West Ham

I think it's a name that gets bigger and bigger. You see also the signings that came this summer, if you see the season the club had and the development the club has had in the last few years. It is continuing to grow.

On pre-season

It's very important because I almost had no games in pre-season. Getting into the games felt like a cold start for me and getting that confidence is important for me.

On the arrivals

I think it is exciting and interesting for everbody. For us to play our best game, we need some time to find each other. We are doing it the best way possible and working together with the coaching staff.

Injury latest

Interesting to see who is with the squad and who is not.

Nayef Aguerd (ankle) is a long-term injury absentee while Aaron Cresswell (groin), Ben Johnson (hamstring), Tomas Soucek (foot) and Maxwel Cornet (unknown) are all current concerns.

We will be hearing the latest from Moyes shortly.
