Falkirk and Dunfermline fans throw chairs and clash before powder-keg League 1 match

TENSIONS were high before the all-important match between Falkirk and Dunfermline this afternoon at East End Park.
And things came to boiling point as fans came to blows in a shocking video before the match.
It was set up to be a mouth-watering tie in League 1 this afternoon.
Third division hopefuls Falkirk travelled to East End needing a win to keep their title hopes alive.
They started the campaign off to a flyer after three consecutive wins against Peterhead, Edinburgh City and Queen of the South, but took a knock when they stumbled to Kelty Hearts.
Meanwhile, Dunfermline went into the game full of confidence after only conceding one goal in the entire campaign, flying high at the top of the league.
And the spirit of the occasion spilled over in the town before kick-off.
Fans were videoed coming to blows on Dunfermline High Street.
The blockbuster clip shows both sets of supporters standing off on each side of the street mouthing off at each other.
Falkirk fans sung songs while both sides threw various objects at each other.
Outdoor furniture such as tables and chairs were launched at the crowds outside a coffee shop in the busy town centre.
Onlookers witnessed the carnage and took photographs and videos of the scene.
The cops were later called to deal with the disturbance.
But there was no-one present at the scene when the police arrived and no arrests were made.
A police spokesperson said: “Around 11.10am on Saturday, 17 September, police were called to the Kirkgate area of Dunfermline, following a report of a large disturbance.
"Officers attended, however there was no trace on issues on arrival.
“Enquiries are ongoing and officers remain in the area at this time.”
