Conceding a goal after getting tackled as the last man is a defender's worst nightmare - not least if you're tackled by your own goalkeeper!

Hull centre back Tobias Figueiredo looked as baffled as the rest of us after he was unceremoniously dispossessed on the edge of the six-yard area by keeper Nathan Baxter during the Tigers' 3-0 Championship defeat to Swansea on Saturday.

The calamitous gaffe came mid-way through the second half with the Swans holding on to a narrow 1-0 lead when Figueiredo picked up a loose ball in Hull's box. As he shaped to boot it clear, he was clattered into by a panicked Baxter who made a brainless beeline for the ball like those seagulls from Finding Nemo: 'Mine!'

Presuming none of his team-mates would be stupid enough to wipe him out, Figueiredo hit the deck as he waited for referee to blow for a foul whistle, but the whistle never came, allowing Luke Cundle to steal in and roll the ball into an empty net, effectively sealing three points for the Swans.

Fans leaped onto social media to ridicule Hull's hapless defending, with one fan insisting even Sunday league players wouldn't be that boneheaded.

"What in the world," one fan tweeted, while another wrote: "Laughable. It's like someone's controller died on FIFA."

A third commented: "Sunday league isn't that bad," while a fourth joked: "Baxter.exe has stopped working."

A fuming Hull fan posted: "Now we know why Forest were so keen to give us Figueiredo."

Swansea added a third later on through Ryan Manning, after Joel Piroe grabbed his side's opening goal in the first half. The result leaves the Swans 16th in the Championship table on 12 points, while Hull are four places below on 11 points.
