Aaron Hickey injury sweat as Brentord star adds to mounting Scotland fitness full back woes
Kieran Tierney and Nathan Patterson also look likely to miss the clash with Ukraine to round off the Nations League campaign.
Brentford star Aaron Hickey is the latest Scotland full back to be sidelined after the right-back hobbled off during the Nations League clash with Ireland.
The English Premier League star came into Steve Clarke 's starting line-up following an injury to first-choice right-back Nathan Patterson, but the former Hearts kid faces a spell out of the side after he pulled up during the crucial showdown at Hampden in the second half. He was replaced by Celtic star Anthony Ralston, but did not require the stretcher that had been brought on the park for the 20-year-old.
The knock comes after Arsenal star Kieran Tierney was replaced in the first half at the national stadium. It leaves Scotland boss Clarke with a major selection dilemma as they look to see off Ukraine in the final game of the Nations League campaign to top the group and earn a shot at the Euro 2024 playoff.
It will also be a worry for Bees boss Thomas Frank, who has made Hickey a regular starter at the club since arriving from Serie A side Bologna in the summer.
