Michael Owen is only the second-highest earning footballer on personalised video messaging platform Cameo.

That is according to new data compiled by Betting.com, who analysed the profiles of more than a thousand sports personality's profiles on the app. Following their research, they have revealed the 10 highest earning British footballers on Cameo, with former Arsenal and England defender Tony Adams coming out on top with estimated earnings of £47,677.

Adams charges fans £139 per video message and has accumulated 343 reviews on the app, giving him estimated earnings almost double the size of Ballon d'Or winner Owen, who charges £151 per message.

Four-time league champion Adams is set to earn even more fans in the coming weeks after making his debut on Strictly Come Dancing at the weekend.

The Gunners legend wore a red waist coat with his name and Arsenal squad number printed on the back for Saturday night's show as he and partner Katya Jones recreated his viral training ground dance moves from his time as Granada manager.

During his brief spell in charge of the Spanish strugglers in 2017, Adams was caught on camera giving an animated speech during training, with his moves entertaining fans on social media.

The BT Sport pundit's Cameo profile also describes him as a "soccer legend" following his spells at Liverpool, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Newcastle.

Prior to retiring at the age of 33 in 2013, Owen scored 222 senior club goals in 482 appearances, with more than 150 of those goals coming for Liverpool, for whom he now works as a club ambassador, despite his spell at Old Trafford earning the ire of fans.
