Glen Kamara opens door to Aston Villa transfer with Rangers exit admission
Latest Aston Villa news from BirminghamLive includes an update on Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara
Glen Kamara has admitted he dreams of playing in the Premier League amid transfer interest from Aston Villa.
Rangers star Kamara was expected to leave Ibrox last summer and Villa have long been linked with a move for the Finland international. Villa held an interest in Kamara even before Steven Gerrard swapped Glasgow for Birmingham last November,
Villa haven’t acted on their interest in Kamara though and the 26-year-old came close to sealing a transfer elsewhere at the end of the summer window. However, Kamara’s proposed £10million move to French club Nice fell through at the last minute.

He remains an important figure at Ibrox and Gers boss Giovanni van Bronckhurst is a fan of the midfielder - but Kamara has ambitions of leaving Scotland, where he has plied his trade since 2017.
He told Finnish publication Helsingin Sanomat (via GlasgowLive): "I have always dreamed of playing in the Premier League. And perhaps not just playing in the English Premier League, but in the top five leagues in general. They all interest me.
"Let's see what happens. My time at Rangers has been good. The club has been good to me. I've been there for almost four years. Who knows what the future will bring. Maybe we just have to wait and see what happens."
