'It was a pleasure' - Allan sends emotional message to Everton fans after transfer

Departing Everton midfielder Allan has admitted it was a 'pleasure' to be part of the Blues' squad during his two-year stint on Merseyside.


The Brazilian completed a move to United Arab Emirates-based club Al Wahda on Tuesday afternoon and ended his stay at Goodison Park after making 57 appearances for the Toffees.


Allan was reunited with former boss Carlo Ancelotti at Goodison Park in the summer of 2020, when the former Napoli manager used his existing connections in Naples to secure a deal for the midfield enforcer.

However, despite featuring heavily during the Italian's spell at the club, Allan fell out of favour under both of Ancelotti's successors - Rafa Benitez and Frank Lampard, with his last start for the club coming in April's Merseyside derby defeat to Liverpool.

After completing his move to the Middle East, the Brazilian took to Instagram to wish Evertonians well and thank them for the appreciation they showed during his time on Merseyside.

"Thank you for everything @everton," wrote the 32-year-old on Instagram. "It was a pleasure to be part of the blue family. I will always be cheering you on, wishing you the best you deserve"
