RB Leipzig stars unite in Celtic confidence surge as Marco Rose's video nasty tactic pays off

The Bundesliga side got their league campaign back on track by hammering bottom side Bochum on Saturday.

RB Leipzig stars Marcel Halstenberg and Xaver Schlager believe they are back in the groove ahead of their Champions League showdown with Celtic after sitting through a series of video nasties.

The Bundesliga side have had a largely disappointing start to the season but have begun to rally under new manager Marco Rose following the sacking of Domenico Tedesco. Leipzig battered rock bottom Bochum on Saturday with both Timo Werner and Christopher Nkunku bagging braces.

Rose's next task is to get their European campaign up and running - the Germans have lost both their opening fixtures to Shakhtar Donetsk and Real Madrid. Part of the manager's strategy has involved sitting his squad down to watch some of their recent displays to figure out what's been going wrong. And now left-back Halstenberg is confident Leipzig have turned a corner just in time for Ange Postecoglou 's side coming to town. He said: "We worked on tactics all week and spent a long time looking at footage of where we had been going wrong.

"I made a big effort to link up with Timo Werner. We have played together before on the left wing and we work well together. We showed that we can score goals with energy, intensity and pressing. Marco Rose wants to bring the team closer together so that everyone stands up for everyone and win our individual battles.

"The difference from recently was that everyone demanded the ball. It was a very good performance. We won as a team and we need to continue this against Celtic."

And Leipzig 's Austrian international midfielder Schlager admitted they have received a huge injection of confidence before they play the Premiership champions. He said: "The manner of the win was very good and that gives us a lot of confidence for the next game against Celtic.

"But we must continue like this. If we get our performance right on the pitch, whoever we are playing will have a very difficult time against us."
