Michy Batshuayi had fans in stitches when he referenced hit US sitcom The Office after scoring Fenerbahce's winning goal against Fatih Karagümrük on Sunday.

Batshuayi was thrust into action in the closing stages of the game with the scores level at 4-4. And the former Chelsea striker needed just seven minutes to make an impact when he hit the net in the FIFTH minute of stoppage time.

His crucial strike gave Fenerbahce a vital 5-4 win against their opponents in the Turkish Super Lig. And his heroics prompted the Belgium international to gloat about the goal in the vein of The Office's protagonist Michael Scott.

Throughout the show, Scott's constant use of the phrase "That's what she said" gained notoriety with viewers. And Batshuayi borrowed the catchy line to reference his super-sub antics on Twitter.

After the match, Batshuayi joked: "Seven minutes are enough (that's what she said)." And eagle-eyed fans quickly caught wind of his quip that received just under 5,000 retweets, plus close to 100,000 likes, along with a slew of laughing emojis.

Batshuayi was overwhelmed by the fans' response when he returned to the post, and declared his affection for the legion of Office fans. He added: "Ehhhhh so much The Office fans in the mentions I love you guys."

The 29-year-old's been a regular starter at Fenerbahce since joining them on transfer deadline day in September from Chelsea. He was on the verge of moving to Nottingham Forest but the move collapsed at the last-minute due to problems with his documents.

Batshuayi failed to make an impact at Chelsea before moving to Turkey. He scored a paltry 25 goals in 77 appearances at Stamford Bridge after moving there in 2016.

One of the only times he's managed to grab headlines in recent times was when the centre forward splashed £64,000 on a BMW painted in rainbow camouflage earlier this year. And he should have an easy time finding the net for Fenerbahce this season after spending the previous campaign with Besiktas, who fellow former Premier League counterpart Deli Alli now plays for following a failed stint at Everton.
