Bizarre moment Rangers-daft hotel guest requested Ryan Jack face masks to be left on bed

RANGERS midfielder Ryan Jack is certainly a popular figure amongst Ibrox fans - but one supporter took things to EXTREME last season when the team was facing Dundee.

The Light Blues won all three games at Dens Park last term - but one diehard's football overnighter in the City of Discovery took a bizarre twist when they arrived at their hotel room last September.

Hotel staff in Dundee adorned one guest's room with images of Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack after a bizarre request last September.

Hotel staff in Dundee adorned one guest's room with images of Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack after a bizarre request last September.

Ahead of the 1-0 win for Steven Gerrard's team, they found MASKS of the Gers' Scottish Cup final goalscorer on the bed and images of the player adorning their accommodation walls.

And the wacky super-fan was DELIGHTED.

The Apex City Quay hotel chain has revealed some of the most weird and wonderful requests made by guests - and one fan's quirky attempt to make a trip to Tayside extra special.

With Dens Park a short distance away football requests are frequent, as are players' visits and stays.

When Rangers were in town last term to face the Dee, reception received an email asking if one guest's favourite Rangers star would be staying or visiting the hotel too.

Though not involved in the match - decided by Joe Aribo's first half strike - the midfielder wasn't around the hotel and spa but staff quickly arranged the next best thing.

To avoid disappointing the super-fan - two carefully placed Ryan Jack facemasks were left on the bed pillows, and an array of Rangers memorabilia displayed around the room including bedside photos of the midfielder celebrating the 2021 cinch Premiership title win.

It ranks as one of the hotel chain's strangest requests, and is included among the top five detailed in a flashback look over the company's 26 years.

Meanwhile midfielder Jack is one of a mounting list of Rangers injury doubts for the weekend trip to Motherwell.

He followed defender Connor Goldson in limping out of the 7-1 Champions League defeat against Liverpool which leaves Giovanni van Bronckhorst with just ONE recognised central defender.

Filip Helander and John Souttar are long-term absentees while Ben Davies reported a problem after the record-breaking European defeat.
