Michael Beale receives 'exciting' Wolves backing as search for Bruno Lage successor continues
All the latest Wolves news as BirminghamLive brings you quotes from Ally McCoist on QPR manager Michael Beale
Former Rangers striker Ally McCoist is a 'big fan' of Michael Beale as links to Wolverhampton Wanderers continue to swirl.
Beale, 42, was appointed as Queens Park Rangers boss this summer after stepping away as Steven Gerrard's assistant head coach, having worked with the former Liverpool and England midfielder at both Rangers and Villa.
The QPR boss is now being heavily linked with a return to the West Midlands, as Wolves search for the man to succeed Bruno Lage, who was sacked following the 2-0 defeat to West Ham United. BirminghamLive understands that Beale is a candidate for the role, with former boss Nuno Espirito Santo also linked with a return to Molineux.

Despite only making the jump into a managerial seat this summer, Beale has guided QPR to fourth in the Championship with seven wins and three draws recorded across their opening 14 games in the 2022/23 season. That form has led to McCoist backing Beale for the Wolves job.
Speaking to Grosvenor Sport, he said: "Michael Beale would be one of the best coaches that Wolves could appoint as their new manager, I’m a big fan of his.
"Michael has shown that there are a lot of young, exciting coaches who are deserving of these opportunities - he’s done exceptionally well in his short time in management and I would not have a problem in the slightest if he was given a chance in the Premier League."
