'Bitter' Danny Mills description of Darwin Nunez goal laughed at by Liverpool fans

Darwin Nunez grabbed his third league goal of the season as his header helped power Liverpool to a narrow victory over West Ham United at Anfield on Wednesday night

Danny Mills has been accused of being "bitter" by laughing Liverpool fans for his description of Darwin Nunez's goal against West Ham United.

Nunez headed in the only goal of the match as Liverpool beat the Hammers at Anfield on Wednesday night, making the most of the Reds' most dominant spell of the first half. However, Mills felt the goal had come from "absolutely nothing" and described Liverpool's performance up until taking the lead as "abject".

Watching the match as a pundit for Sky Sports, Mills said: “Out of absolutely nothing. Just a ball floated in from the left hand side and Darwin Nunez manages to get to the ball first.

"Heads it down into the ground and I think it’s the bounce that beats Fabianski. It almost sort of loops over him into the far corner. Liverpool, up to this point, have been almost abject in their performance.”

He went on to add: “As he heads it down into the ground, wet surface, skids up, bounces over Fabianski into the far corner and out of nothing Liverpool are 1-0 up.”

Nunez had looked lively during the opening 45 minutes, seeing a shot tipped over by Lukasz Fabianski and striking the post either side of his goal, in dry conditions.

Liverpool fans were quick to poke fun at Mills on social media for his analysis, with one supporter tweeting: “Absolute love the bitterness and salt in his voice. What an absolute wonker.”

Another simply added: “Bitter t*** is Danny Mills.” A third wrote: “Love seeing Danny Mills getting laughed at this morning. The absolute state of the bitter t*** when describing that Darwin goal.”

One more supporter commented: “Danny Mills so bitter and biased. How can Sky Football even have someone like him on air. It’s just embarrassing.”

“Danny Mills is the most bitter w*****. It’s a great cross and a great header," added another Liverpool fan. "No credit given at all to anyone involved, just a lucky loop is it?”
