Antony has hit back at Paul Scholes and his other critics after insisting he will never stop his trick and treats on the football pitch.

It comes after the Manchester United ace came in for criticism for performing a 720-degree spin with the ball glued to his left foot. Immediately after, though, the Brazilian tried to find Casemiro with a pass - only for the ball to go straight out of play.

In the commentary box, Robbie Savage fumed at the forward - calling him "embarrassing" and if he was in charge, he would not be happy. That sentiment was echoed in the BT Sport studio where Scholes ripped into the Red Devils star.

However, Antony took to social media to hit back at his critics by saying: "We're known for our art and I'm not going to stop doing what got me where I am."

The Brazil international has garnered a reputation for his party tricks, something that Erik ten Hag has admitted he will try and control.

Scholes had said at half-time: "I don't know what he's doing. It's just ridiculous. It's showboating. What is he thinking? I think he needs that kicking out of him."

While Savage, whose son plays for United's reserves, said: "Well that for me is ridiculous because he's done that and then he puts the ball out of play.

"Quite embarrassing actually, doing that with nobody near him and then he puts the ball out of play. If I was the manager I would not be happy. And you can hear the crowd. He's trying to win a game, move the ball quickly, nobody near him and he puts the ball out of play. Embarrassing."

Thankfully, it had little impact on the result with United going on to win the match 3-0 against Sheriff. The Red Devils have already qualified from their group but could finish second if they do not beat Real Sociedad next week.
