Jamie Carragher blasts FIFA 2022 Qatar World Cup decision after Son Heung-Min Tottenham injury
Tottenham news: Carragher rips into 2022 World Cup planning amid more injury fears after Son Heung-Min taken off.
Jamie Carragher hasn't held back in criticising the Qatar 2022 World Cup planning after Son Hueng-Min went off injured for Tottenham in their 2-1 Champions League victory over Marseille.
Son, who is due to captain his South Korea side at the tournament later this month, was taken off as a first half substitute after a collision with Chancel Mbemba in which his face and eye became swollen.
It makes the attacker a doubt for Spurs' top four battle against Liverpool on Sunday and comes just 10 days before the Premier League breaks up for the tournament.

Speaking after the match, Carragher slammed the organisation of FIFA to move the games to mid-season, saying, "I think it’s an absolute disgrace that the World Cup is in the position that it's in, for lots of reasons," Carragher told CBS Sports.
"They campaigned on having it in the summer, it is impossible there to have a World Cup in the summer with the temperature, it gets moves to the situation where it is now in the middle of the season.
"Players who spend their whole lives dreaming of playing in a World Cup and now could be [out] – as we’ve seen with Son, players all around the world, [Raphael] Varane was crying coming off the pitch at Stamford Bridge. That’s how close we are to a World Cup."
Conte and Son himself must now wait to find out the extent of the injury he suffered in Marseille, with the South Korean one of a group of players that have been injured in recent weeks, including Manchester United's Varane.
N'Golo Kante will miss the tournament after his own injury against Tottenham in August, Reece James is also out until the start of December, whilst Wesley Fofana is currently injured at Chelsea too.
Bukayo Saka at Arsenal has had his own scare after being subbed off against Nottingham Forest at the weekend and Liverpool have seen Diogo Jota ruled out of the tournament too. Carragher continued, "An injury, a 10-day or a two-week injury, is going to keep players out of a World Cup and it should not be happening.
"And it all started with FIFA giving Qatar the World Cup and then moving it. I think it’s absolutely disgusting."
