‘Did you get it on camera?’ – Moment Jason Cummings realises hilarious trip over advertising board has been caught by TV

WITH the Australia World Cup squad being confirmed this week, Jason Cummings will have been wanting to make sure he got noticed this weekend.

And the former Hibs and Rangers striker certainly managed that - although probably not in the way he intended!

Cummings, capped twice by Scotland, hasn't looked back since moving Down Under at the beginning of the year.

After a stunning first campaign for the Central Coast Mariners, the 27-year old has continued his excellent form in front of goal into the current season.

It's all happened at exactly the right time with Cummings on the cusp of a sensational spot at the World Cup with Australia.

Qualifying for the Socceroos through his mum, he made his international debut against New Zealand in September, marking it with a goal.

Cummings had struck two goals in three games before this weekend's clash with Western Sydney Wanderers.

He couldn't find the net this time around as the Mariners enjoyed a comfortable 3-0 win over their A-League rivals.

It wasn't through any lack of trying, however, and the former Hibs hero struck the post and spurned a couple of other decent openings.

Ultimately, despite a superb performance from him, it was just one of those days in front of goal.

Despite failing to find the net, Cummings still managed to make sure fans were talking about him after the game after a rather embarrassing moment was caught on camera!

Being interviewed after the game by 10 Sport, the reporter suddenly asks him: "Were you trying to get over the billboard a second ago?"

Pointing to the scene, Cummings says: "That just sums up my night that does."

The reporter says "yeah, we got that on camera," but Cummings doesn't seem to realise the footage is being shown as he continues "yeah, that just sums up my night that does."

As he's speaking, viewers can see the hilarious moment the striker makes a somewhat half-baked attempt at jumping over an advertising hoarding, seemingly unaware it isn't fixed to the ground.

"I thought it was a wee bit more sturdy - I just absolutely went for it.

As he puts his hand to it, the board tumbles over - taking Cummings with it!

"I looked round and I thought, I hope no-one's seen that."

The penny then seems to drop as he then says "did you get that on camera?"

The reporter replies "yeah mate" as Cummings covers his face with his hand.

Cummings will find out if his World Cup dream is to become a reality in just a couple of days.
