Disgraced David Goodwillie makes shock return to Scottish football as ex-Scotland striker turns out for NINTH-tier club

DAVID GOODWILLIE has returned to Scottish football after featuring for a club at the NINTH level of the pyramid.
The 33-year old, who was ruled a rapist by a civil court in 2017, was at the centre of controversy earlier this year when Raith Rovers announced his signing.
The Championship signed Goodwillie from Clyde in January, a decision that was met with widespread uproar at the club.
Livid supporters threatened to boycott games while the Raith women's team completely rebranded in protest.
Several club figures resigned from their posts, too and sponsor Val McDermid withdrew her support.
Raith then attempted to send Goodwillie back to Clyde on loan, but the local council insisted he wouldn't be able to enter their then-Broadwood home.

Former Scotland international Goodwillie was axed by Raith after the backlash and never made an appearance for the club.
It wasn't until the end of September, however, that his contract was finally ripped up.
As reported by the Edinburgh Evening News, Goodwillie made his return to action in Scotland at the weekend.
He turned out for Livingston United, a club playing in the fourth tier of the East of Scotland League at the ninth level of Scottish football.

His appearance only came to light following the game as he was listed officially as 'trialist.'
The 'trialist' was listing as having scored twice in a 3-1 win over Fauldhouse United.
That was a fourth-tier game in the East of Scotland League Third Division.
SunSport have contacted both the East of Scotland League and Livingston United for comment.
