Everton held Luke Shaw 'talks'
Everton held talks with Luke Shaw over the summer, according to Jacque Talbot.
The Manchester United left-back is also said to have spoken to Leicester City and one other Premier League club, although he ideally wants a new contract at Old Trafford, with his current deal running out in the summer.
Frank Lampard is thought to remain keen on the England international, whose future beyond June is currently unclear.
Erik Ten Hag's side have reservations about the 27-year-old's injury-record, and the Dutch boss sees 23-year-old Tyrell Malacia as the future left-back at the club.
Told Luke Shaw did have talks with Leicester City and Everton over the summer - plus one more side. Everton manager Frank Lampard remains keen on the England LB but player hoping for a contract extension at Old Trafford, which runs out next year - plus option of one more.

Everton and Liverpool monitoring Sporting star
Everton and Liverpool are keeping tabs on Sporting Lisbon star Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, according to Portuguese outletO Jogo.
The Ghanian winger has only been in Europe for six months after signing for Sporting in the summer, making just six appearances in total - including two in the Champions League.
But at just 18-years-old and with European football already under his belt, there is clear promise, and both Merseyside outfits are thought to be monitoring the teenager's development, even if a move is not imminent.

Everton line-ups ahead of Bournemouth clash
Frank Lampard has plenty of options for change this evening when his Everton side face Bournemouth in the Carabao Cup.
Tonight's clash is the first of two at the Vitality Stadium in five days, with the Toffees and the Cherries meeting again in the final weekend of Premier League football before the World Cup break.
Lampard has hinted at a raft of changes for tonight, seeing the cup as an opportunity to rotate while still taking it seriously. The Blues boss suggested a number of youngsters - Tom Cannon, Stanley Mills and Reece Welch - could be involved in some capacity.
Yerry Mina could also make a long-awaited return after he picked up an ankle in jury in the opening weekend against Chelsea, while the likes of Abdoulaye Doucoure, Tom Davies, Salomon Rondon and Michael Keane all in contention.

Bournemouth looking to 'turn around form' against Everton

Jack Stacey is dertmined to use Bournemouth's game against Everton this evening as the perfect opportunity to turn around the hosts' form.
The Cherries have lost their last four Premier League matches but manager Gary O'Neil is still expected to rotate his squad for the visit of the Blues this evening.
Full-back Stacey has only made one appearance so far this season but is expected to play and believes that a victory against Frank Lampard's side can push the south coast side onto to a winning run.
Asked by Dorset LIVE if the Carabao Cup presenting the opportunity for a team reset, he said: "Yeah, potentially. I think it's great to have a game so close to the one we had on Saturday, to be able to turn it around. Of course, winning breeds winning within the squad, so we're going to go and do our best for that."
Patterson hoping for strong finish before World Cup

Nathan Patterson is hoping that Everton can head into the mid-season World Cup break with two strong performances against Bournemouth this week.
The Blues face two trips to the South Coast in five days as they face the Cherries in the Carabao Cup this evening before going head-to-head in the Premier League on Saturday.
Full-back Patterson has made two substitute appearances for the Blues after recovering from an ankle injury, and the 21-year-old insists that the South Coast double-header is the perfect opportunity to bounce back from last weekend's disappointing home defeat against Leicester City.
Speaking to Everton's official website, he said: "We’re disappointed with the result but hopefully we can pick ourselves up and look forward to the upcoming games. You want the next game to come around as quickly as possible so you can try to make it right and get a better performance.
"We wanted to come here and give the fans something to cheer about. We didn’t manage to do that but we’ll go back to the training ground, regroup and look forward to the next games.
"I’m feeling a lot better. My ankle feels strong. I rolled it a wee bit but it seems to be fine, so I‘m just looking forward to the games and hopefully I can get more minutes. We just need to stick together, keep the togetherness in the changing room, work hard in training and make sure we get a win in the next game."
Michael Keane 'opens door' to European move amid Everton exit links

Everton are reportedly considering letting Michael Keane leave Goodison Park on loan when the January transfer window opens.
And that could alert some of the Blues' Premier League rivals, while a move abroad has also been touted.
The 29-year-old centre-back has found himself pushed to first-team margins after Frank Lampard brought James Tarkowski and Conor Coady to Merseyside in the summer, with the pair going on the establish themselves as a first-choice partnership.
According to the Daily Mail, Nottingham Forest and West Ham considered a move for Keane in the summer, but with Everton yet to complete their recruitment at the time, the Blues "turned down offers".
But a move abroad is also a viable option for the centre-back.

Frank Lampard on EFL Cup ambitions

Everton boss Frank Lampard has been sharing his thoughts on his aims for the Carabao Cup ahead of tonight's match against Bournemouth.
Speaking ahead of the first of two trips to the south coast in a week, he said: "I will definitely take it seriously and our plan is to try and win it, simply. But also, I see a lot of managers get questioned when they change their team for these games but when you work day-to-day with 20+ players and a lot of them work very, very well and don't play so regularly, you do try and find moments to give those players who are training well a game. [It] is important for the squad so I think it's a balance of trying to give those players minutes to show you they deserve to play more so we will certainly take it seriously."
Frank Lampard makes selection admission over Stanley Mills and two other Everton youngsters

Stanley Mills, Tom Cannon and Reece Welch could be part of the matchday squad for Everton's Carabao Cup tie with Bournemouth as Frank Lampard looks to reward their progress.
The Blues boss wants to take the competition seriously but will make changes on Tuesday night, his decisions set to be impacted once he learns the extent of injuries suffered by Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Idrissa Gueye and Amadou Onana in and around the defeat to Leicester City. Yerry Mina is a senior figure who could earn his first minutes since his comeback from a knee injury.
But Lampard will consider turning to youth as well and said he hopes to include a number of Under-21s starlets on his bench. They include the in-form Stanley Mills, whose recent displays have been tracked by the first team coaching staff.

Yerry Mina 'most likely' to be moved on

Kevin Campbell believes that Frank Lampard is ready to move one or two of his Everton centre-backs onto a new club and Yerry Mina is the most likely to make an exit.
That's because injury-prone Mina is older than fellow defenders Mason Holgate and Ben Godfrey.
The Blues have struck upon a solid central defensive partnership in the form of summer signings James Tarkowski and Conor Coady, but that leaves Lampard with more players in that area of the pitch than he needs, with Michael Keane also on the books.
Speaking to Goodison News, Campbell said: “Yeah I think a couple of them might possibly be leaving.
“Probably you can keep two, so I think Mina’s the odd one out if I’m honest.
“I think he’s a good player he just unfortunately hasn’t been able to keep himself healthy, and some of the youngsters are the same.
“Yerry Mina’s the experienced one, he’s older. I think Frank Lampard will look to move him on because Holgate and Godfrey, I think they’ve got years ahead of them.
“I think there’s some players in there if they can concentrate and keep themselves fit. I think with Mina, that’s one that they might move on.”
Mina is 28 and will be out of contract at Goodison in the summer.
Manchester United join 'race' for Jonathan David

Everton could face competition from Manchester United, as well as Tottenham, for the services of Jonathan David.
The 22-year-old Canadian international is currently banging the goals in for French side Lille, but will be showcasing his skills on the world stage later this month in Qatar.
According to Give Me Sport, should he enjoy a good World Cup, The Red Devils could turn to David to solve their striker search. The US-born forward is understood to be valued at around £40million and should Everton follow up on their rumoured interest, the prescence of United and Spurs in a bidding war could end the Merseyside club's interest.
