Tillman and Sands OUT of World Cup but USA place faith in Carter Vickers
The Light Blues pair have been left out of Gregg Berhalter's 26-man United States squad for the World Cup later this month.
Rangers duo James Sands and Malik Tillman have been overlooked for next month's World Cup in Qatar, but it's better news for Celtic's Cameron Carter-Vickers who will be on the plane.
Versatile Sands will not be part of Gregg Berhalter's squad with his form at Rangers not deemed enough for one of the 26 places in the squad. Leaks had earlier suggested he would be left out but the news has now been confirmed by the national team's social media platforms.
His team-mate Tillman - on-loan from Bayern Munich - is also not part of Berhalter's plans, as his inconsistent start to life at Ibrox perhaps has cost him. Celtic defender and makeshift captain Carter-Vickers is though. He will be getting his passport stamped for Qatar and has capped a dream few months for the former Spurs man. As well as starring in the Champions League, he has assumed the responsibility of captain in the absence of the injured Callum McGregor.

The 24-year-old made his international debut in 2017 and currently has 11 caps for his country. Former Celtic loanee Timo Weah - now at OSC Lille - is on the list alongside two of the current Old Firm players. His namesake Giovanni Reyna - son of former Rangers midfielder Claudio and named in the Ibrox boss' honour - has also been included in the squad.
