Mohamed Salah gets hilarious tribute from former Liverpool teammate Dejan Lovren who posts ‘morning routine’ featuring Salah-themed bed sheets, slippers, posters and coffee

There’s bromances in football, and then there’s Mohamed Salah and Dejan Lovren.

The two played together at Liverpool from 2017 to 2020 and, in a clip posted by Lovren, it’s clear his adoration for the Egyptian king is unbroken.

In a video on the Croatian defender’s Instagram captioned ‘my morning routine’ he’s first seen turning off an alarm that has a picture of him and Salah together at Liverpool.

Then things quickly take a hilarious turn as he switches on his bedroom light, before making his bed, revealing his duvet and pillows are covered in a giant Salah mural.

Things then get even weirder as he shuffles into a pair of Salah slippers before the Zenit Saint Petersburg defender compares his abs to a topless photo of his old teammate celebrating, and gees himself up in the mirror.

Then after putting on a t-shirt with a picture of Salah on it, Lovren pours out a drink into a mug featuring the pair hugging, before uttering the immortal line: “Mo... s*** coffee.”

The two created an unlikely friendship during their three years at Anfield, regularly taking part in club videos to put their relationship to the test.

Whether it was playing table tennis or answering questions about each other in a ‘Bezzies’ feature, the duo were inseparable at Liverpool, taking home a Premier League and Champions League together.

They also took part in a ‘coffee mates’ feature, which quickly spiralled into an amusing argument about their pre-training coffee trips, which Lovren references with one line in his video.

The two have regularly interacted since Lovren left the Reds, and just three weeks ago, the Croatian posted a photo of Salah’s Anfield locker which had a pillow featuring a photo of Lovren.

The caption read: “This is how Mo is getting his motivation for his goals.

“Top hahaha. Always together. You’ll see soon mine.”

Even with fair warning, Salah might not have been expecting such a tribute.
