Ryan Jack revs up for Rangers return with gruelling Dubai session as trio of Ibrox stars spotted getting down to work

The midfielder was out for a month but has been training in the Middle East along with team-mate Alex Lowry.

Ryan Jack would have loved to be in Qatar right now preparing for the World Cup with Scotland. But the fact Steve Clarke’s men failed to qualify hasn’t stopped the Rangers man heading to the Middle East anyway.

The midfielder only recently returned to action after a month on the sidelines with a calf problem, coming on for the last half hour of the 1-1 draw against St Mirren in Paisley and then following that up with a substitute appearance for his country in the friendly defeat to Turkey.

And now Jack is using the break to step up his fitness after being put through his paces in Dubai with both the 30-year-old and midfield team-mate Alex Lowry pictured working with the Elite Sports Performance team. As the thermometer starts to drop back home, Jack has been able to train in temperatures in excess of 30 degrees. Rangers captain James Tavernier has previously used the same fitness specialists whose work has been praised by former England and Liverpool star Emile Heskey.

Meanwhile, Light Blues striker Antonio Colak also posted a picture back in the gym as he gets down to work after the disappointment of being left out of Croatia’s World Cup squad with team-mate Borna Barisic and Old Firm rival Josip Juranovic preparing for their opener against Morocco on Wednesday.

Gio van Bronckhorst’s men return to action on December 15 when they take on Hibs at Ibrox Stadium in the first Scottish Premiership fixture after the winter shutdown for the World Cup as they attempt to close the nine point gap on leaders Celtic.
