Rangers star Glen Kamara targeted by Serie A side Salernitana for January transfer as new manager set for squad dilemma

SERIE A side Salernitana could hand Rangers' new manager his first big decision after targeting midfielder Glen Kamara with a January move to Italy.
And they want him to team up again with former Rangers loan star Lassana Coulibaly.
The Ibrox side are managerless after the sacking of Giovanni van Bronckhorst and will be aiming to bring in a new boss as soon as possible, with Michael Beale the current favourite.
And reports in Italy have revealed that Salernitana have made Rangers' Finnish international Kamara their main winter transfer window target.
The club - who currently sit in 12th place in Serie A - want additional support for Coulibaly in the centre of midfield, who played with Kamara for six months when he was on loan at Ibrox in season 2018/19.
Sporting director Morgan De Sanctis, the former Napoli and Italy keeper, has identified Kamara as being the ideal fit for the ambitious club.

And they will try and make a move for the 27-year-old, who still has three years left of his deal after signing an extended contract last year.
He was used as a bit-part player this season under Van Bronckhorst and his lawyer was forced to deny reports of a bust-up following what turned out to be the Dutch manager's final match at St Mirren after he was subbed at half time.
Salernitana manager Davide Nicola has been monitoring Kamara since the summer and is ready to make his move.
That will depend on whether the new Ibrox boss, whoever it turns out to be, sanctions the move.

Formerly assistant to Steven Gerrard at Ibrox, current QPR boss Beale has impressed as a gaffer in his own right in the Championship this term.
However the R's have lost four of their last five matches and slipped down the table.
That, plus his lack of managerial experience, led Rangers icon Ally McCoist to express concerns over the idea of appointing Beale to replace Van Bronkchorst.
He told talkSPORT: "Excellent reports about Michael as a coach, is it just a little bit early? I'm not sure. I'm really not sure.
"Do you go for more experience? Someone like Sean Dyche or one or two others.

"Michael Beale is certainly very well thought of but I'm not sure if it's maybe a little bit early because it's a massive job.
"The pros are he knows the place, he's been there before, the players know him and he's had a better than reasonable start to his managerial career at QPR, although they have dipped a little bit, losing four of their last five."
