Alan Stubbs reckons Steve Clarke may regret Jason Cummings Australia switch as ex-Hibs boss makes Scotland claim

ALAN STUBBS reckons Steve Clarke may regret allowing Jason Cummings to switch allegiance to Australia.
The ex-Rangers and Hibs striker worked his way into The Socceroos' squad for the World Cup after impressing in their national A-League.
Cummings had fallen out of favour at the Premiership's bottom side Dundee last season and opted for a move down under to revive his career.
The change of scenery has worked an absolute treat too, he has 21 goal contributions in 26 appearances for his new side Central Coast Mariners so far.
His form even caught the attention of Australia manager Graham Arnold who convinced him to switch to representing his new home internationally.
Cummings had played for Scotland at under-19, under-21 and even senior level twice in friendlies.

But thanks to his family heritage he was also eligible to play his football for Australia, an option he chose to take up earlier this year.
Ex-Hibs manager Stubbs worked with Cummings during his time at Easter Road.
He reckons Clarke and Scotland may well regret leaving his former striker out of their plans.
He told Boyle Sports: "Steve Clarke may possibly regret letting Jason Cummings switch allegiance to Australia.

"Jason has re-found himself because before the move he was lost but he's gone to Australia and it's given him a new lease of life.
"Deep down I think he would've loved to be getting Scotland caps.
"But he was in a predicament wondering how long he'll have to wait for a chance and he's decided to make use of his family heritage and play for Australia."
Cummings and Australia kept their hopes of making the World Cup knockout stages alive with a huge win over Tunisia today.
The 27-year-old was an unused sub as Arnold's men beat their group rivals 1-0 thanks to a header from Mitchell Duke.
The win leaves The Socceroos fate in their own hands ahead of the crunch final tie with Denmark next week.
Despite missing the tournament through injury, Hibs star Martin Boyle was right at the heart of the post-match celebrations.
Arnold was spotted dragging the wide-man on his crutches into the middle of a post-match huddle with his team mates.
