Gareth Southgate told to encourage England stars to have sex before World Cup matches
Former England goalkeeper David James believes that Gareth Southgate should not stand in his Three Lions players' way if they want to have sex before matches at the World Cup
Gareth Southgate has been told to encourage his England stars to have sex before matches at the World Cup.
The Three Lions are currently preparing to take on rivals Wales in their final group stage game on Tuesday night, with a victory seeing them through to the round of 16 as group winners. He has now been urged to allow his players to sleep with their partners on the eve of matches during the tournament.
It is an act that Spain manager Luis Enrique is happy for his players to partake in before games, having been asked about the topic during a Twitch stream after their 7-0 thrashing of Costa Rica.

Former England goalkeeper David James agrees and told Genting Casino: “What players do for their clubs doesn’t influence whether or not they get picked for Gareth Southgate.
"But somewhere down the line, what you do to be the best footballer at club level, is what you need to do to be the best you can be for England. If you want to get the best performance, then you want to replicate that for preparation.
“Dare I say it, just referencing Luis Enrique’s quotes, if that’s what you need to do then that’s what you should do. I’m not suggesting for one minute the FA opens up a room, though!”

James was included in three World Cup squads during his career and made three appearances at the 2010 World Cup, where England were knocked out by Germany in the last 16. Overall, he won 53 caps for his country before retiring.
Southgate is currently managing at his third major international tournament, having taken over between the 2016 European Championships and the 2018 World Cup.
In Russia, he took England to their first World Cup semi-final since 1990 before reaching the final of last summer's Euros, a first tournament final since 1966.
As long as his side avoid a heavy defeat to Wales on Tuesday, they will advance to the knockout stage, with a victory enough to see them top the group.
