Former West Brom coach set for Slaven Bilic reunion at Watford

Former West Bromwich Albion coach Julian Dicks is set to be reunited with Slaven Bilic at Watford.

Dicks has reportedly accepted a position on Bilic 's coaching staff at Vicarage Road. The pair have previously worked together at Albion and West Ham United.


Having been part of the backroom team at West Ham under Bilic, Dicks followed the Croatian to West Brom in 2019, spending 18 months at the Hawthorns before both being relieved of their duties in December 2020, along with other first-team coaches Danilo Butorovic and Dean Racunica.

The Watford Observer reports that Dicks "is set to sign his contract today (Tuesday) and then start his new role on December 1 (Thursday)".

Dicks, 54, has most recently been working in the United States, as technical director at Carolina Velocity.

Bilic was appointed Watford boss in September following the sacking of former Wolves and Aston Villa man Rob Edwards.


When he was previously asked about a possible reunion with Dicks, Bilic said: “Jules was always with me and part of my staff when I’ve worked in England. I enjoyed working with him. He is very important.”
