Declan Rice hint

Declan Rice has detailed his ambition to play Champions League football and win major trophies in the biggest indication that he could leave West Ham United to date.

Rice is set to enter the final 18 months of his contract at the turn of the year with reports suggesting he has no intention of extending. Liverpool are one of several clubs that have been linked with the 23-year-old alongside Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United.

Rice is currently representing England in the World Cup and has started all three games in the heart of the midfield. And it is while in the presence of the likes of Jordan Henderson, Trent Alexander-Arnold and several other major trophy winners within the squad that the West Ham man has outlined his ambitions to compete on the biggest stage.

"100% I want to be playing in the Champions League,” Rice told the media. “For the last two or three years I've been saying that. I've been playing consistently well for the club and I want to really keep pushing. I see my friends here winning the Champions League and other big trophies, you only get one career and at the end you want to look back at what you've won and the biggest games you've played in. I’m really ambitious and I want to do that."

Lukaku sent message

Belgium have been knocked out of the World Cup after the group stages following their 0-0 draw against Croatia.

Roberto Martinez's side failed to score at the Ahmad bin Ali Stadium this afternoon, with former Everton man Romelu Lukaku squandering a series of gilt-edged chances to send his side through to the round-of-16. Belgium had 34 shots on goal throughout their three games, managing just one goal.

Lukaku, who had played just 31 minutes of club football since the end of August, came on at half-time with Martinez in need of a goal and deciding to roll the dice. But a combination of unfortunate bounces and a lack of match sharpness saw the usually clinical striker miss a number of glaring chances.

Many fans took to social media to point out that another Belgian - former Liverpool striker Divock Origi, who was left out of the squad - may have produced the goods.
