Former Celtic ace Leigh Griffiths was arrested as part of a police probe into sports gambling.
Detectives searched the 32-year-old’s home at around 7am on Thursday morning. Griffiths, who last played for Australian side Mandurah City, was released without charge soon after the raid on his home in Lanarkshire.
Over ten officers are understood to have carried out the raid on his property, including three in uniform and eight from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). "The street was full of police cars and a van,” one insider said to the Daily Record.

“They were inside the house and searching the cars in the driveway. It was still dark and the police were using torches.
“Whatever they were doing, they weren't discreet about it. It was chaotic. They were still there when people were going to work.
“We think Griffiths was inside the house when police arrived. His car was parked outside."
Police reportedly departed the vicinity at around 9.30am, after two and a half hours of searching the seven-time Scottish Premiership winner’s house.
A statement from Police Scotland said: "Following a pre-planned police operation on Thursday, 1 December, three men, aged 37, 35 and 32, were arrested in the Bothwell, Bonnyrigg and Airdrie areas in connection with an investigation into alleged gambling incidents in sport. All three men were released without charge pending further enquiries."
As well as Celtic and Mandurah City, Griffiths also played for Livingston FC, Wolves, Hibernian, and Falkirk.
He is also known for scoring two spectacular free-kicks in a 2-2 draw against England in the 2017 World Cup qualifiers.
