An irate Edinson Cavani was seen lashing out at the VAR monitor after Uruguay were eliminated from the World Cup on Friday afternoon.

Uruguay were dumped out of the World Cup after a last-gasp winner in the adjacent fixture between South Korea and Portugal. However, an additional Uruguayan goal would have seen the South American nation make the knockout stages.

And Uruguay were presented with a golden opportunity, but they were denied a penalty as Cavani went down under a challenge inside the area. Daniel Siebert waved away the appeal, and he was confronted with furious Uruguayans when he blew the full-time whistle.

Fan footage from inside the Al Janoub Stadium showed the former Manchester United lash out at the VAR monitor as he made his way down the tunnel.
