He's been linked with Celtic this week - and Cho Gue-Sung has proven he's not fazed by big names after leaving Cristiano Ronaldo irked. The striker is a reported target for Hoops boss Ange Postecoglou this winter as doubt surrounds Giorgos Giakoumakis' future. He played the number nine role in a stunning 2-1 win for South Korea over Portugal which booked a place in the World Cup last 16 for his side, and as Ronaldo made way, the 24-year-old managed to press his buttons.

Speaking to Portuguese media, the 37-year-old free agent claimed Gue-Sung had no authority trying to order him off the pitch as South Korea chased their eventual winner, amid reports there was a disagreement with boss Fernando Santos. He explained: “What happened was before my substitution, the South Korea player told me to get off quickly. I told him to shut up as he doesn’t have that authority. There was no disagreement (with the coach)."

Santos himself has addressed the situation, and went one step further, claiming the Celtic 'target' had insulted one of the game's greats. He said: "The player from Korea was insulting him telling him to go away, so that is the reason why he was angry, everyone saw that.

“I saw the interaction with the Korea player and I don’t have any doubts about it and if you see the images you see Pepe went towards the Korea player. He was not aggressive, he was only verbally aggressive, he was speaking in English to Cristiano, and Cristiano said, ‘Perhaps he had a bad day."
