What Celtic, Rangers, Hearts and every Prem side has made from World Cup so far

The former Manchester United man explained: “What happened was before my substitution, the South Korea player told me to get off quickly.

I told him to shut up as he doesn’t have that authority. There was no disagreement [with the coach].”

Manager Fernando Santos hit out at Cho’s behaviour and said had ‘insulted’ the star.

He said: “The player from Korea was insulting him and telling him to go away, so that is the reason why he was angry, everyone saw that.”

Cho Gue-sung wasn’t a household name heading into the World Cup – but starring for South Korea in Qatar has made him an internet sensation.

With around 30,000 Instagram followers before the tournament kicked-off, Cho now boasts a rather remarkable 1.5million followers on the platform.

It’s all the more remarkable considering that he has only posted five times on there with the last one coming back in July.

While plenty of his new found stardom is down to his exploits on the pitch, it’s certainly not the only reason for it.

The striker has also been inundated with marriage proposals from a number of his new fans around the world.

Korean journalist Yim Hyun-su retweeted a ‘fan cam’ post featuring shots of Cho sitting on the bench.

He predicted that Cho was about to see “a crazy surge in followers on Insta.”

He certainly wasn’t wrong about that, and the fan cam footage has also amassed a staggering number of views.
