Fans cannot believe Achraf Hakimi knocked Spain out with 'a Penguin and a Panenka'

Spain were sent crashing out of the World Cup after a nail biting penalty shootout against Morocco and they were sent packing from Qatar in the most humiliating way possible

World Cup fans have been left in shock after Morocco ace Achraf Hakimi knocked Spain out with a "Penguin and a Panenka".

For the second tournament in a row, the Spanish were sent crashing out of the World Cup at the Round of 16 stages on penalties. Extra-time substitutes Pablo Sarabia and Carlos Soler both missed in the shootout, before Barcelona legend Sergio Busquets also saw his penalty saved by Morocco goalkeeper Yassine Bounou, who is also known as Bono.

His No.'s heroics meant the Paris Saint-Germain superstar had the opportunity to convert the spotkick that would send his country through to the quarter-finals. And not only did he dispatch his penalty, he did so by lobbing the ball down the middle, Anthony Panenka style, before dancing like a penguin in celebration.

And it's fair to say, World Cup fans have hailed Hakimi's bravery and quality. "Balls of steel from Hakimi," one admirable fan wrote on social media. "That is outrageous," another added.

"Omg. Hakimi no you didn't. A Panenka and a Penguin celebration," one other stunned football supporter tweeted. "Hakimi has ice in his veins," another stunned football fan wrote on Twitter.

"Achraf Hakimi spending too much time with that front 3 at PSG. Ice cold and complete filth," one other commented, citing the fact he plays alongside Neymar, Lionel Messi, and Kylian Mbappe. "The balls to do that! Hakimi! Take a f***ing bow," said another football supporter.

Morocco will now face either Portugal or Switzerland in the last eight of the tournament. While they will be labelled as the tournament underdogs, they have only conceded one goal all tournament and have already overcame Belgium, as well as the Spanish.

If they are able to become the first ever African side to reach the semi-final, they will battle France or England for a place in the World Cup final. On this evidence, they will be a very difficult side to overcome.

Considering Hakimi's outrageous penalty, they will not be afraid of anybody.
