Celtic could face transfer competition from Turkey in their bid to sign Aissa Laidouni.

Reports in France emerged last week linking the Tunisia World Cup star with a move to Parkhead as Ange Postecoglou looks to bolster his midfield during the January transfer window. Laidouni was impressive in Qatar despite Tunisia going out in the group stage, although they recorded an impressive 1-0 win over World champions France in their last Group D fixture.

But now Besiktas have been credited with an interest in the 25-year-old. Turkish outlet Burada Bugun claim Laidouni is a target for the Istanbul-based outfit, and that current club Ferencvaros would be willing to sell for a fee of €4million. They also state Besiktas had made their move in an attempt to land the primarily defensive midfielder. Wolfsburg are also thought to be keen on Laidouni, who played in France and Romania before establishing himself in Hungary.

Celtic will likely face strong competition to land Laidouni but will hope their winter chase proves more successful than their summer attempts to land a holding midfielder. Brazilian Vinicius Souza was heavily linked with the Hoops and a host of other clubs, but eventually opted to sign for Espanyol.
